As a global player with a diverse range of activities, suppliers are a crucial part of the Sonaca value chain and can have a significant impact on social, environmental, and governance issues.
To put its sustainable approach to its suppliers into practice, Sonaca has established a supplier code of conduct, developed with recognition of the ten (10) principles outlined in the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC).
The policy covers assorted topics from child labor, freedom of association, anti-corruption to health and safety. Sustainable supplier management includes identifying and selecting suppliers based on their sustainability performance, setting expectations for sustainable practices, and monitoring and verifying supplier compliance. These steps have been implemented at Sonaca through NAVEX, a tool that identifies and manages potential and actual risks arising from contractors (conflict of interest, ethics, sanctions, financial health, etc.) The tool is used by all Sonaca entities, and allows the company to adopt a more proactive, comprehensive approach towards their ethics and compliance program.
